Sunday morning, 27 October 2024, around 5am, Goose, a border collie, became agitated at home and seemed to want to go outside. Owner let him out but he managed to bolt and escaped. This was in Ramsbottom BL0.
We were contacted to help later that day so all the initial advice was given and posters were printed. Sightings came in the day before of a dog that looked like Goose who was seen running towards Bolton. He was then seen in Bolton town centre early morning the following day. This was unusual as the only reason lost dogs go so far is if they are chased by a vehicle. We don’t know why he ran that far.
We printed 200 more posters today, Monday 28 October, and laminated 100 when owner was contacted to say someone had managed to secure Goose in their garden. Owners and Goose are happily reunited. 200 posters and 100 laminate pouches in the bin but definitely worth such a waste as Goose is now safely home. He’s got sore pads from running that far on concrete and is very tired but besides that he seems fine. He will be checked by the vet. Thank goodness someone managed to shut the garden gate. Welcome home Goose.
