Ted, an 8 month old wire-haired Vizsla, escaped from his lead when out on a walk in Accrington BB5 on Sunday 16 February. Owner contacted what they thought was our page but what turned out to be a clone of our page done by scammers. Without proper help, they did what they could to get Ted found.
Ted was chased and approached by well meaning people which pushed him further away and made him more fearful of people out there. At one point he got onto the M65 and ran up and down it until thankfully he ran into a field at the side of the motorway. His last sighting was on Thursday 20 February at 9am in Great Harwood.
On Friday 21 February, when I saw owner comment on their post saying they had been in touch with us, I questioned this and this is when we found out that our page had been cloned. It has since disappeared. We started helping straight away. The first thing that needed to be done was posters and posters were put up where Ted had last been seen and the surrounding area.
Tonight, owner got a call from a young lad, who could see Ted stood watching him. Ted was in Rishton BB1 on Cowhill lane. The lad spoke quietly on the phone to owners and ignored Ted so Ted stayed where he was as he wasn’t made to feel threatened. Owners got there and sat down on the ground with food, throwing small pieces towards Ted. Eventually he got near enough to them to recognise them and now Ted is safely home. He’s currently fast asleep on the sofa
Thank you to all who shared Ted’s post and thank you to the young lad who did exactly the right thing so owners could get there. I hope you see this post because you deserve a massive thank you.
